Turk Telekom, a fixed-line operator in Turkey, has released its first quarter year results for 2011. According to the reports, the company managed to increase its net profit by 11.4% on year to 608.8 million Turkish lira ($396.7 million). The company’s sales rose 12% on year to TRY 2.8 billion from TRY 2.5 billion. On the other hand, its financial revenue increased to TRY168.05 million from 138.3 million a year earlier.
Besides those, the company’s operation profit rose to TRY873.5 million from TRY 689.1 million. Turk Telekom CEO Hakam Kanafani told, in a statement, that the company’s infrastructure investments increased 54% in one year to TRY314 in the first quarter of 2011. Furthermore, he asserted that Avea, which is the company’s business unit in mobile, achieved to get 200000 new subscribers in the first quarter in spite of tough market conditions.
